About Us
A neighborhood stationery shop built on paper, ink, and slow mornings.
Cherokee Paper Co. started with a simple idea: St. Louis deserved a dedicated stationery shop — not a corner of a big-box store, but a place where you could touch the paper weight, test a nib, and leave with something that makes writing feel worth your time.
We opened at 2710 Cherokee Street in 2018, joining a block of independent retailers, coffee shops, and studios. The neighborhood draws walkers, cyclists, and people who still send birthday cards in the mail.
We choose products the way we shop for ourselves — useful, beautiful, and made to last more than one season.
Our shelves mix established Japanese and European brands with small-batch makers from the Midwest. We restock journals and ink regularly, rotate greeting cards with the seasons, and keep a test notebook open at the counter because paper is something you should feel before you buy.
We are not a chain. We are a small team who reads pen forums, attends local maker markets, and genuinely enjoys helping someone find the right notebook for a new job, a long trip, or a letter they have been meaning to write.
